Using rotary tools, burr bits, drills and other hand tools, artist Jay Belhumeur carves, engraves, cuts and textures each piece by hand.
THE ART OF METAL
Metal is more than a material. It is the canvas.
Jay works primarily with anodized aluminum and sheet metal, using hand engraving, carving, cutting and drilling techniques to create artwork with a distinctly industrial character.
Surfaces can be:
Black. Silver. Sharp. Textured. Smooth. Slick. Reflective.
The finished result depends on the interaction between the metal, the tools and the artist’s hand. Every line is deliberate. Every mark becomes part of the piece.

TrueLines Metalworks creates hand-crafted metal artwork in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Each piece is cut, carved, engraved and textured by hand, transforming sheet metal and stainless steel into distinctive works of art designed to stand out.
Created by Jay Belhumeur, TrueLines Metalworks is built around precision, patience and dedication to the craft. Using a Dremel rotary tool, specialized burr bits, drills and other hand tools, Jay works directly into the surface of the metal to create sharp lines, intricate textures and unique finishes.
RECENT WORK
Each artwork begins with a piece of metal and is developed by hand using a Dremel rotary tool, 1/8-inch-shank burr bits, drills and other tools. Lines are carved into the surface, holes are drilled and textures are built one mark at a time.
